Sherry Johnson joined Humana Veterans Healthcare Services (Humana Veterans) in February 2008 after a thirty two (32) year career with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
 
Her extensive career with the VA is the basis for her role as in-house counsel and expert on the VA Fee Basis program, liaison between Humana Veterans and VA and in identifying and assessing new VA related business opportunities.
 
During her VA career, Ms. Johnson held staff and management positions at every level of medical administration in a VA medical facility.  Her assignments included VA Medicals Phoenix and Tucson, AZ, Fresno, CA and Anchorage, AK.
 
She served on the VAs National Fee Basis Task Force that reviewed the fee basis program and make recommendations for improved business processes.
 
In 1997, Sherry was the recipient of Vice President Al Gore’s Hammer award for her work in creating the first Women Veterans Health Clinic in Anchorage, AK.
